Dussehra, a Hindu festival, is also known as Vijayadashami.Dussehra is one of the major Hindu festivals that marks the end of Navratri. The festival is celebrated as the victory of Lord Rama over Ravana. It also celebrates the triumph of Goddess Durga over the demon Mahishasura. In many places, the effigies of Ravana are burned on this day to signify the destruction of evil, along with fireworks.
