World Health Organization (WHO) has also raised serious concerns about the new variant that it could spread faster than the delta and other variant. At the present, WHO is coordinating with a large number of researchers around the world to study more about the behaviors of the new variant, Omicron. Currently, Britain, Hong Kong , UK, Belgium, Israel, Denmark have reported few confirmed cases in their own countries.
While researchers suggest that the mutated strain may be far more infectious, little is known at present about its transmissibility and the severity of the disease it can cause. It is also not clear whether existing vaccines will be effective against the new variant.
